-
- There is a potential SCSI address contention problem on any SCSI device
- used with the recently announced Macintosh SE. The SCSI hard disk internal
- to the Macintosh SE is factory set to address 0 (zero). The Apple internal
- drive SCSI address cannot be changed.
-
- LoDOWN drives shipped prior to May, 1987 were factory set to device address
- zero, (jumper pairs not installed). Additionally, some chassis may not be
- equipped with an access hole in order to easily facilitate address changes.
- These units will require disassembly of the chassis.
-
- In order to change the device address you will need at least one jumper.
- These may be obtained from your LoDOWN dealer or call LoDOWN.
-
- The following instructions apply to Connector J6 on the Adaptec 4000A and
- 4070 controller cards:
-
-
- Jumper Pairs (O= no jumper, X= jumper installed)
-
- E-F C-D A-B ADDRESS COMMENTS
-
- 0 0 0 0 (zero) Now reserved for Macintosh SE internal drive
- 0 0 X 1 Current default for Lodown Hard disks
- 0 X 0 2 Any additional SCSI Device
- 0 X X 3 LoDOWN Scanner default
- X 0 0 4 LoDOWN C-D ROM default
- X 0 X 5 LoDOWN WORM default
- X X 0 6 LoDOWN Tape drive - DO NOT CHANGE
- X X X 7 Macintosh ID - DO NOT USE
